"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- Isaiah 41:10
I finally got to sit and watch “
Facing the Giants” yesterday. It was a great movie!

The fact that we are still able to see good Christian virtues played out in mainstream media is uplifting. As my husband and I watched the movie, one particular scene really spoke to me. As Coach Taylor is receiving his own pre-championship pep talk in the locker room, he is told that the phrase “do not fear” is written 365 times in the Bible. What I perceived that to mean was that there are 365 days in a year, and in each one of those days the LORD is walking with us and we should not fear as we walk with Him. We have to hand our lives over to Him. I can almost see it as laying down our burdens each morning as we awake and picking up Christ’s cross as we walk through our day.
So, today as I pick up my cross, I am laying down my fear of the unknown. We are “officially” launching the site this weekend with a
Press Release. The fear is in not knowing what that can do for the site … how it can hurt or help us. I have been monitoring the daily stats on the
website trying to keep up with where the visitors are coming from and how they got there. I have noticed visitors all over the US, Canada, Asia, Europe … and one from New Zealand yesterday! I get excited because I know that the gospel is being delivered all over the world!
I constantly monitor the search engines and have my husband verify the search positions to make sure it’s not “just my computer.” We are flabbergasted by the numbers and the position we have achieved on Google in such a short amount of time. My husband’s only response is “God’s hand is all over this.” Well, I hope so! I have not changed a thing or added a page without consulting Him first. Each night as I try to sleep I pray to God asking for clarity on this or an idea for that … and I awake the next morning with an answer! A crystal clear epiphany! (Except on that
fashion page! Or maybe I’m not listening to what He’s saying about that one for some reason?!)
Nevertheless, my flesh takes over as I go into a new day, afraid of what it may bring. Rejection from a secular world … apathetic and cruel. Yet, as I lay my trust in Christ, I must fear not, for
“the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) As I believe that God truly has a hand in this “project,” I pray that our
online community for Christian preteen girls becomes worldwide … glorifying the name of Jesus Christ!

We've all done it ... decorated a room, stood back and looked at it, took everything out and tried it again. Well, maybe not an entire room, but a cabinet, a closet, a wall ... something! We're fickle. Not sure what we want ... or we know what we want ... just don't exactly achieve it on the first try. And, if you're a perfectionist, which I do happen to be, then it will probably never be to your liking! With all that said, I am trying a new approach with the parent's pages here at Testament Tweens.
I have prayed over and over again about this website. I really want it to take off and be a great online community for Christian preteen girls to come together. Not only those that are "seasoned" Christians, but I would LOVE to know that we are reaching new girls and welcoming them into Christ's Kingdom. That is our drive behind the website ... spreading the gospel!
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matthew 28:18-20
With all that said, I have decided that the best way to maintain fresh content on the topics important to us as parents was to maintain a blog! Chey’s Corner was established for the girls to keep up with the current events of Chey’s life, likes, worries, etc … all from the aspect of one of their peers. So, as I was collecting articles and such to put on the parents pages I decided that in order to keep up with the demands of the girls, we too, as parents, need to stay abreast of what’s going on in their “world.” Scary! Thus, the idea of my own blog was born! *Sigh*
Now, do I simply add this link to the website from the already established parent’s page … or do I make this blog the full content of the parent’s pages? Ugh! What to do? I only felt God leading me to write the blog. No clarity on how to tie it into the site … yet! Back to the drawing board some more! Only I’m putting my pen in God’s hands!
“Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” - Isaiah 64:8
